Orange leaves, warm tea, cozy socks: while fall brings a comforting aesthetic, unfortunately it is impossible to avoid the chill that comes along with it. Thankfully, I'm here to help you plan a fit that stays fashionable, while still managing the weather. Here are my favorite trends from this season.

Leather Jackets

The ultimate mix of grunge and classy, a leather jacket is the perfect accessory for layering over an outfit. The perfect leather jacket is soft yet durable on the outside and slightly oversized to fit any sweater underneath. My personal favorite is from Abercrombie, but these jackets can also be found at any thrift store if you're on a budget. Pair it with a fitted basic and classic jeans to immediately elevate your looks.

Pops of Red

Tired of the same boring basics? Adding a shade of red will brighten up your look and fit right in with the season. A deep cherry red accessory compliments a mysterious and sultry look, and a bright red cheers up an otherwise boring set. From shoes to bags to jewelry, shades of red are the hot new way to spice up clothing.

Bare Shoulder Tops

Romantic fashion is IN and this basic is essential for your fall wardrobe. Off-the-shoulder sweaters are classy, yet still stylish. Perfect for the day, and the night, a cream colored off-the-shoulder sweater is always a classic, but this piece is versatile and still works in many colors. Not to mention, this style is extremely comfortable for the fall weather.

Olive Green

A new color has entered the scene. Previously associated with military-adjacent clothing, such as cargo pants, this color has been revitalized for a new season. Now, a muted olive green is a staple for any wardrobe.

Mary Janes

A relic from the 1920’s makes a return this year. A low shoe with a buckle or two across the top adds a charming accent to a fall outfit. My personal favorite is a Mary Jane shoe style with a low kitten heel, but this style also works great on loafers.

Hair Ribbons

Ribbons are another accessory reminiscent of a romantic era, ribbons are destined to be put on every article of clothing this year. The most popular being hair ribbons. From silk to velvet, a ribbon will revamp any regular hair style.

Tall Boots

Remember the high boots from the 2000s? They’re back and better. This season, switch out your short boots for ones that go at least mid-calf. A black boot is always a staple that is easily paired with any outfit.

Trench Coats

A couple years ago puffer jackets were the main style, but this year the trend is switching from short and puffed to long and sleek. Have a cute fit planned, but don’t want to be too cold? Throw on a trench coat over top to maintain your style while keeping warm.
